The potential of Moscow exporters will be assessed using a new digital model

The export support and development center “Mosprom” has developed the first digital model for assessing the export potential in Russia, Adept 7. The service for analyzing the readiness of an enterprise to enter and operate in foreign markets is now available on the updated portal for exporters. This was announced by Vladimir Efimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations.

Center Mosprom has launched a new service for Moscow manufacturers – an assessment of the export potential based on a digital model. The analysis will take place in two stages and will reveal how successful the product will be in a specific foreign market. By the end of 2020 alone, non-resource non-energy exports of Moscow amounted to 39 , 86 billion dollars, which is almost a third more than a year earlier. We expect that the new service will allow existing exporters to strengthen their positions in foreign markets, as well as help companies start exporting their products, “said Vladimir Efimov.

At the first stage of the analysis – qualifications – the general readiness of the company for export, its strengths and weaknesses, is assessed. The second stage is validation, which allows you to determine how successful the exporter can be in a specific market with a specific product. The assessment of the export readiness of companies is given on the basis of seven key parameters: human resources, financial capabilities, the company’s foreign economic activity infrastructure and the adaptability of its management model, environment, implementation, motivation and purpose, and product uniqueness.

Thus, the model will make it possible to determine the company’s readiness for export through an assessment of the competitiveness of products: its competitive advantages and disadvantages, compliance with the expectations of the target market in terms of quality, packaging and much more.

“Note that in the second phase of assessment – validation – a company can only find itself after successfully passing the first stage, which makes it possible to consistently and systematically establish export activities. This approach works for both existing and novice exporters, solving, perhaps, two main issues : how to avoid unnecessary financial costs and how to reduce the possibility of mistakes when choosing foreign markets, “said Alexander Prokhorov, head of the Moscow City Investment and Industrial Policy Department.

The updated site of the Mosprom Center also presents other services for exporting enterprises: conducting analytical studies, requesting consultations in the field of foreign economic activity, solving emerging problems in foreign markets.

“We develop all new solutions for exporters based on the experience of communicating with dozens of manufacturers, studying their problems and key cases. We are confident that any company can become an exporter, regardless of the level of its digitalization, because it will have enough electronic digital signature “, – said Natalya Shuvalova, General Director of the Mosprom Center.
