Rosselkhoznadzor held a meeting on measures to prevent the export of goods with the genome of the SARS-CoV-2 virus to China – Customs News
On April 7, 2021, on the initiative of the Rosselkhoznadzor, a meeting was held in video format between the Deputy Head of the Service, Konstantin Savenkov, with the territorial offices of the Rosselkhoznadzor, subordinate to the Service of the FSBI “NCBRP”, Rosrybolovstvo, specialized associations and representatives of the business community.

During the meeting, Konstantin Savenkov described the main measures taken by the Rosselkhoznadzor in order to prevent the shipment of Russian fish products contaminated with genetic material from the causative agent of the new coronavirus infection COVID-19 to China. The Deputy Head of the Service also voiced the problems arising in the course of interaction with the General Administration of Customs of the PRC, including, in particular, the failure of the Chinese side to provide information on the sampling methods for conducting studies for the presence of the virus on the packaging of controlled goods and the protocols of such tests.

Representatives of the associations announced the implementation of a set of measures to reduce the risk of infection of the infectious agent on the supplied goods, including vaccination of personnel, control of workers’ health, disinfection of production facilities, control of the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus genome on product packaging.

Konstantin Savenkov drew the attention of the fishermen to the measures taken when exporting meat products, among them – increased attention to the disinfection of goods and premises for their storage, an increase in the frequency of laboratory tests of sent products for the presence of the virus genome.
